Position Title: Business Attraction Intern
Department: Business & Community Development
Reports to: Business Attraction Director

Position Summary
The Business Attraction Intern is designed to provide assistance with business attraction, foreign direct investment (FDI) and export-related projects, questions and issues. The Intern will primarily anticipate and support the needs of internal and external customers to accomplish tasks with little direction required and provide a variety of support to other functions within the department.
Responsibilities
The Intern will spend a majority of their time in these activities:
- Conduct research on certified sites, business attraction and FDI related projects.
- Assist with the development and implementation of a targeted relationship management plan.
- Provide support to the team in responses to Requests for Information, site searches, and coordinating site visits.
- Design, conduct, and report out to the team on a data integrity project for business attraction and FDI.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and reports for staff to execute.
- Assist with team projects and assignments.
- Other administrative tasks, as needed.
Education and Experience
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to WEDC services including, but not limited to, Economics, Financial Services, Business Administration, International Studies, Political Science, Urban or Rural Development, Commercial or Industrial Real Estate, Marketing or related program
- Experience in a professional services environment preferred.
Skills and Talents
- Ability to organize work, balance multiple priorities and manage a variety of projects in a fast-paced, flexible work environment with strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound reasoning, independent judgment and initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal direction and to solve issues/accomplish tasks not requiring the involvement of others.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and other software or applications associated with assigned work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with senior executives, as well as diverse groups of people internal and external to the organization.
- Requires a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
Other Requirements
- Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Occasional travel to the main office is expected based on role responsibilities, as well as for collaboration and team-building opportunities, depending on the employee’s schedule and business needs.

** PROTECTED VETERAN DEFINITION
