Overview

Essential Functions:

The Brand Marketing Intern for Sally Beauty will support the brand strategy team with detail-oriented execution to help drive new customer acquisition, brand awareness, and omnichannel traffic to Sally Beauty. With interest in public relations, communications, advertising, and/or paid media and desire to learn more in those areas, this role will support the brand strategy team (Brand Marketing & Media Manager, Senior Brand Marketing Specialist) with PR, events, activations, partnerships, and integrated marketing support. This is a hybrid role reporting into the office in Denton TX 2 days a week.

Primary Duties:

Administrative and Public Relations/ Events/ Partnerships

• Support with presentation materials
• Support with reporting
• Special projects as assigned
• Input brand marketing activity into calendar
• Support PR agency and internal team with media requests
• Support PR agency and internal team with event planning, logistics, execution, and post-event recaps
• Help manage timelines
• Support with PR product inventory and mailers
• Cross-functional support gathering campaign and launch information

Integrated Marketing

• Assist with briefs for creative assets
• Help manage timelines and Go-To-Market Details from partners

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Current junior/ Senior undergrad student studying marketing, communications, advertising, public relations or a similar major
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and/or proven understanding of branding, public relations, and/ or awareness media tactics
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and Slack

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

• The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
• The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
