SUMMARY:
The QA Hold Auditor will work for Mizkan America, Inc. at the Owensboro, Kentucky (Ragu) sauce plant. The plant is a high speed processing and packaging facility which produces sauces for both the Ragu and Bertolli pasta sauce brands. This position reports to the Quality Supervisor. This job description reflects assignment of essential functions. It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Lead daily communication of product holds with Logistics, Planning, Production, Quality, and others.
- Maintain/Strengthen and seek improvements of the Hold Program.
- Conduct Daily Quality Team Meeting to review Holds, QI, Red Zone.
- Maintain the Hold Database, Trend analysis, Daily Share point report.
- Update MPO hold report and lead weekly hold meetings to discuss current holds and dispositions with Plant Management.
- Support and participate in CI Department RCA hold weekly meetings for all shifts to ensure proper corrective actions are identified.
- Serve as the point of contact for the Logistics, Production, Quality departments on all Finished Product Holds to provide status of holds. Confirm and verify product is placed physically on hold to ensure that product remains within our control, according to logistics documentation.
- Provide Logistics proper documentation to move held product to blocked status in SAP system.
- Maintain Held inventory in D365 inventory system.
- Review Inventory in QI status in D365 Daily.
- Keep/file records of all Hold Reports and supporting documentation for Rework of Holds.
- Follow up, communicate and record dispositions for all Finished Product Holds in Excel file, hard copies and with Rework.
- Create Quality Hold documentation, Tag finished product in warehouse and adjust status in D365, communicate to Rework and Sr. Inventory Clerk.
- Confirm and verify Rework completion and documentation prior to product D365 movement.
- Escalate product Quality issues identified through the Rework Process to management.
- Lead the product donation process. Create AFDI for products to be destroyed as dispositioned.
- Assist in abnormality investigations, in-plant and consumer complaints.
- Lead the quarterly physical Hold Inventory working with Logistics Rework Driver. Complete documentation. Work with Logistics Senior Inventory Controller to reconcile counts in D365 and Excel hold file.
- Provide product samples/control jars for sensory testing as needed.
- Serve as contact for non-conforming Ingredients/ components with Production, MPO and Suppliers
- Track, communicate and maintain RMDR – Corporate/ Plant Complaint system for non-conforming materials.
- Serve as point of contact for Quality Service Techs when onsite.
- Coordinate shipment of R&D samples as needed.
- Scheduling calibrations for QA plant equipment.
- Assist Logistics Rework Driver with dispositions of stack and ship test for Plant trials as needed.
- Participate in all internal and external audits.
- Maintain and monitor file box storage system, holds, trace sheet, BOL, production records, and sanitation records.
- Work with Logistics Rework Driver to maintain storage of quality retain sample inventory and Quality records.
- Attend event-driven by MPO for Preventative Action Follow Up.
- Serve as backup for Coupa Quality supplies ordering.
- Serve as backup for Day File Review.
- Other job duties as required.
EDUCATION:
- Associates degree is required, or five years of relevant experience in food quality and manufacturing environment.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a Team Leader for one year or more is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems including MS Office, WMS and ERP programs. Ability to learn new job-related software.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to details and accuracy required.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
- Knowledge of Acidified and Low Acid Products is preferred.
- Experience with D365and RedZone is preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical sampling plans and rework process is preferred.
- Ability to lead Quality training is preferred.
- Ability to meet Good Documentation Practices and Recordkeeping requirements is preferred.
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement tools is preferred.
- Relevant Quality and Logistics Procedures for Holds and Rework is preferred.
- Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
- Great work attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes. Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
