Job Summary
THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS at the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Strategy at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September, 2025. The candidate's research focus should be in stakeholder management or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise and interest in teaching classes in stakeholder management and strategy.
To support high quality research, the College has a reduced teaching load (2-2), guaranteed support for summer research and travel, support to key databases, including CompuStat, WRDS, and Bloomberg among others. The College also has a biweekly research seminar hosting leading researchers from other universities.
Excellence in teaching is a tradition at the College and supported with small classes sizes and strong relationships with industry. The College encourages project-based learning and there is a community of faculty supporting this teaching method.
Who We Are
The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) is one of three campuses of the University of Michigan. UM-Dearborn is a comprehensive university offering high quality undergraduate, graduate, professional and continuing education to residents of southeastern Michigan, and currently enrolls more than 8,700 students. The College of Business is AACSB accredited and offers a BBA degree with nine concentrations, an MBA degree that can be completed both in-class and online, as well as MS degrees in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, and Information Systems. The College has recently revised the curricula for most of these degree programs and is expecting significant growth in enrollment at the graduate level. The campus is strategically located on 200 suburban acres of the original Henry Ford Estate in the Greater Detroit Metropolitan region. The campus is a 20-minute drive from downtown Detroit and DTW airport, a major hub connected to destinations around the world. Required Qualifications*
Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Strategic Management or closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) university by the start date of the appointment. Candidate should demonstrate a high potential and ability for research and teaching effectiveness. The successful candidate will be dedicated to quality teaching, research and service.
