The Plasmadynamics and Electric Propulsion laboratory is seeking an Assistant Research Scientist with a projected start date of March 2025

Responsibilities*

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Research Scientist position include leading the technology development effort focused on low to moderate power thrusters. The ARS also will have responsibilities for laboratory management and organization. Key responsibilities include:

-Advising and leading working groups of undergraduate and doctoral students (15%)
-Coordinating laboratory safety and management (15%)
-Supporting the construction, upkeep, maintenance of all test facilities (15%)
-Preparing professional presentations and publications (15%)
-Coordinating laboratory compliance with CUI and Secret level restrictions (15%)
-Building a research portfolio including applying for and running research programs
related to plasmadynamics or in-space propulsion (25%)

Required Qualifications*

A doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering and 4 to 5 years of related experience.
