THE WORK
The Airframe Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated individual with an engineering degree and related experience to fill the role of Airframe Design Engineer in the area of metallic and composite structure design. The selected candidate will be involved in developing basic data, preliminary design layouts and detail design for new and revised parts, assemblies and systems that make up helicopter fuselage primary and secondary structures. This involves working as part of an multi-disciplinary team. Selected candidate will participate in development and presentation of design proposals, detail design, and support through the product lifecycle. Layouts and data releases will be prepared using CATIA V5/LCA and/or CATIA V6/3DX. Composite design will utilize the CATIA CPD tool. Knowledge of Functional Tolerance & Annotation and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required. Project management skill including estimating, release planning/scheduling, project statusing, and checking will be involved. Familiarity with Sikorsky checklists and PLM systems in preferred. Occasional travel may be required to support suppliers, customer meetings and reviews, as well as aircraft build support and test.

In this position, the design engineer will work with cross functional teams within the Sikorsky Engineering and Technology group, across multiple sites. Excellent communication skills are required to ensure the team effectively meets requirements and achieves milestones.

US citizenship required as most programs and projects assigned are ITAR restricted.

WHO YOU ARE
You are a highly motivated and creative engineer with a strong foundation in airframe design, proficient in CAD systems like CATIA V5/V6, and experienced in designing metallic and composite structures. You are a detail-oriented and innovative problem-solver, with excellent project management, communication, and teamwork skills, and proficient in a range of technical tools and software.

A level 4 employee is senior-career and typically has around 6+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience.

* Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD system is required.

* Good communication skills and able to work in a team environment.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
