As an Advanced Data Scientist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven insights and innovation. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and advanced analytics, we specialize in turning data into actionable intelligence that propels businesses forward. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical insight and acting as the subject matter expert in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis projects. You will work closely with leadership to translate business needs into data science solutions and contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies.
You will report directly to our Senior Director of Data Science and you'll work out of our Charlotte, North Carolina location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company by applying your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis to develop and implement advanced algorithms and analytical solutions. You will manage end-to-end data science projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the successful delivery of actionable insights. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development of complex AI solutions to address specific business needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing systems and processes
- Work directly with product managers and business leaders to understand requirements and align AI initiatives with overall business objectives
- Lead the end-to-end AI development lifecycle, including project planning, resource allocation, and monitoring progress

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 4+ years of experience managing AI related technology projects
- 3+ years' experience with developing and deploying neural network models (deep learning, reinforcement learning, etc.) using PyTorch or TensorFlow
- 1+ years' experience with fine-tuning pre-trained generative AI models (Stable Diffusion, Flux, or LLMs, etc.)
- Highly proficient in general programming languages such as Python and its ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with typical development toolchain such as IDE (VS Code, IntelliJ, etc.), version control system (Git), and Cloud development environment (AWS, etc.)
- Proficiency in working on AI cloud services in Azure, Google, or AWS and MLOps
- Proficiency in creating LLM applications like chatbots
